My retirement from music: This will be the last song I write and record

Some of you may have heard my announcement on tonight's edition of Bakersfield and Beyond, on KWMR.  I've decided to retire permanently from music.  No more songwriting and no more recording.

Mike and Amanda played my final swan song on the air, and I thank them for playing.  In case you missed it, here's a sample.  It's been real.  It's been exciting.  It's been real exciting, but it's over.  I hope some of my songs made you laugh, I hope some made you cry, and I hope some made you dance.  I leave you now, with the lyrics and a link to an audio sample of my final number.  Thanks for your support!

April's Fool (audio sample)

April's Fool: lyrics
words and music by Dr BLT copyright 2010 Killbilly Records

April's Fool sits alone on a barstool
drinkin' down
memories of yesterday
she broke his heart
like she did all the others
April's Fool's heartache won't
go away

April's Fool
gave his heart much too early
to this girl
he believed she was true
April took all his love
and destroyed it
left his heart
all torn up
now he's blue

chorus:
April's Fool
full of pain
he's been used
by her games
sits alone
on that barstool
ain't life cruel
to April's Fool

taken in by all her lies
tender words
and allybys
kisses, sweet
and promises so dear
April's gone
he's lost his song
lost the will to carry on
April's Fool
just cries
and sips his beer
