Let me explain why you may hear a little Merle Haggard in this new song

Much of the magic touch you hear in many of Merle's material from the 70s and 80s isn't all Merle, much of the magic is Mark.  Mark put his magic, and his mark on Merle's material and you can hear it in many of Merle's best songs.  But Mark's magic doesn't end there.  Mark helped to shape many of Merle Haggard's best songs and that's why it's such a pleasure that Bakersfield's own Mark Yeary has been doing lots of collaborating with me these days, like he does on this brand new song, quietly released while most of you were either listening to Bakersfield and Beyond or getting ready for bed. 

The song I'm talking about is the title track to the forthcoming CD, From Buck Owens Blvd to Merle Haggard Drive by yours truly.  The song, and the CD are available when you hit the "music" link here:
