Mark Yeary Avenue: The Bakersfield Sound is Back!

Welcome to the new BSU series, Mark Yeary Avenue.  It features one of Bakersfield's greatest musical treasures,
Mark Yeary.

The Bakersfield sound is back.  Here's the evidence.  Mark Yeary, (pictured here with me and local music mogul,
Rockwell), has deep ties to the history of the Bakersfield sound.  He was Merle Haggard's right-hand man for about
20 years as Merle's keyboard player, co-writer/producer and member of Merle's band, the Strangers.
Now he's working with me and Rockwell on my forthcoming CD, From Buck Owens Blvd to Merle Haggard Drive.
Rockwell owns/runs Trout's Nightclub and the Blackboard Stages, the last Bakersfield sound honky tonk.
He's got a great voice too, and real star quality.  He's  a pillar of this community.  Anything else I may
add may be perceived as kissing butt, so I'll stop there.

The three of us are pictured here at a recording session we deliberately hid from the press to avoid a media circus.
Rockwell, a recording artist in his own right, is producing the title track, and also joins me on the vocals.
Mark?  Well, he's simply performing magic, the magic Merle knew, and the magic I now also know.

These sessions are a secret for your own safety and security---to protect you from getting trampled in what
would likely be large crowds of Bakersfield sound fans dying to see if lightening can strike twice in Bakersfield.

This is big news! I was probably the first one to read it. Hopefully, I will be the first one to predict that this collaboration will be noticed in Nashville and beyond! Dr. BLT will be a household word, and healthy food options should also increase. Just go easy on the bacon. Don't forget to give Rockwell and Mark lots of solos!
