If you thought what started out to be Bakersfield's Next Buck talent contest was dead, think again.  Thanks to Bakersfield and Beyond hosts, Amanda and Mike, who have aired the audition song, and have spread the word locally in Marin county and surrounding regions as well as worldwide view their radio stream, the contest has found new life. 

What are the rules to the contest, you ask?  Hey, did Buck Owens apply rules to the creation of his music?  It doesn't matter if you're a male or female, a duo, a group, or a solo act.  All you need to do is request free mp3 copies of the full and instrument only versions If you Wanna Be the Next Buck Owens, from me, the song writer and contest host, record your cover (with the instrumental tracks or from scratch, applying your own style), and you are eligible to be The Next Buck Owens.

You will win a trophy, with your name engraved by your newly acquired title, The Next Buck Owens.  And your cover of If You Wanna be the Next Buck Owens will be added to a special edition of my forthcoming CD, From Buck Owens Blvd. to Merle Haggard Drive.
