Song for ex-Blink 182 drummer: Plane crash victim tied to Bakersfield sound


Ex Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker is recovering from injuries he and friend/co-performer DJAM sustained in a recent plane crash.

In addition to playing drums for one of the most successful alt pop bands of this decade, he has had a special connection to the Bakersfield sound and has been instrumental in bringing that sound to a new generation.

Travis Barker was the drummer in an all-star tribute to the late Buck Owens at the 2006 Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony where he was joined by Brad Paisley, Dwight Yoakam, ZZ Top Star Billy Gibons, Buddy Allan Owens (son of Buddy Owens), and Byrds star, Chris Hillman.
