BAKERSFIELD SOUND Trivia Quest

Welcome to BAKERSFIELD SOUND Trivia Quest.  I'm Dr. BLT.  I'll be your host.  Today's Bakersfield Sound Trivia Quest question falls under the categories of facial recognition.  Here are today's hints:

This involves a man in a traveling band.  This involves a man who could easily qualify as a top contestant in the contest known as Bakersfield's Next Buck.  This involves a category of music that, while nearly impossible to peg, has a flavor similar to the types of nu-Bakersfield-Sound-influenced-styles I've labeled krock (standing for Kern County country rock), krockabilly (a cross between Kern County rock and rockabilly), and Bakobilly (the nu Bakersfield-Sound-flavored rockabilly).  Add a little blue grass to the mix, and you'll get the picture.
Interestingly enough, while this boy frequently visits Bakersfield and has performed with his band in Kern County, he wasn't born and raised here.  Interestingly enough, the seeds of Buck Owens that are germinating are mostly seeds that have blown a little further from the tree than one might expect.

I better quit before I give out too many clues.

If you know the name of this up-and-coming nu Bako Sound star, be the first to mention it in the comments section and you'll win today's prize: The honor of knowing that you have a vast and growing fund of knowledge, not only concerning the Bakersfield Sound, but concerning the exciting new hybrid musical forms that are rising from it, and the talented offspring from the movement that have their boots firmly planted in the Bakersfield Sound of yore, and their arms outstretched towards the future---a sky with no limits.
