    The Next Buck.
Though I am not from Bakersfield. I feel like I am carrying on the tradition of Buck Owens attitude towards music.
Buck didn't worry about what Nashville was selling. He cared about his sound and fought to make sure people heard it.
That's all I'm doing. Making sure people hear my music.
No, I'm not from Bako. But Buck wasn't always from there either.
Am I the next Buck Owens? No.
    No one ever will be.

You are carrying on the tradition well, and you are carrying the torch to a new generation.  As the theme song for Bakersfield's Next Buck suggests, "...be yourself, don't try to be anybody else."

You are being yourself.  And, from what I've observed, and what I've heard of your music, you are being yourself with class, with style, and with distinction.  At the same time, you are standing on the shoulders of the giants of days of yore.  You can't lose, and I am proud to have you here in the underground.

As for the talent contest, you don't have to look or sound like Buck, or to have Buck's history or experiences to be "Bakersfield's Next Buck."  You don't have to be from Bakersfield either.  It's about what musical influences you've allowed to shape your sound and what you are doing to make it your own.  That sound like a pitch for the contest, but I really don't want you, or anybody else, for that matter, feel pressured to join.

Bakersfield's Next Buck is just for fun, and to get people involved in something that pays tribute to the past, while embracing the future.  You will be a big success, and already are, with, or without the contest.  I appreciate your comment, and I'm looking forward to posting my interview with you right here.
